The Trimslate dataset

19,491 trims across 43 makes, model years 2010 to 2025, every figure traceable to a public source.

What it contains

One row per factory trim: identity (year, make, model, trim), body style, powertrain and fuel type, drivetrain, transmission, engine details, EPA fuel economy and emissions figures, electric range and charge time, and MSRP where available. Each spec on the site carries a source badge and a last-updated date; values from low-confidence matches are marked unconfirmed rather than presented as verified.

Sources and provenance

  • EPA (fueleconomy.gov): fuel economy, MPGe, electric range, fuel cost, CO2, and emissions scores. U.S. government work, public domain.
  • EPA Test Car List: horsepower and axle ratio from certification test records. Combined hybrid system horsepower is not published in this engine-level certification data, so hybrids show no horsepower figure rather than a misleading engine-only number.
  • NHTSA (vPIC, SafetyRatings, recalls, complaints): vehicle basics, dimensions, crash ratings, and safety records. U.S. government work, public domain.
  • Wikimedia Commons: vehicle photos, each under its own Creative Commons license with attribution shown alongside the image.
