Eco score (greenhouse gas score)
The EPA's 1 to 10 climate-impact score. A 10 is the cleanest.
The eco score, formally the EPA greenhouse gas score, rates a vehicle's climate impact on a simple 1 to 10 scale based on its CO2 emissions. A 10 means the lowest emissions; a 1 means the highest.
It exists so shoppers can compare cleanliness without interpreting grams-per-mile figures. Battery EVs score a 10, strong hybrids usually land 8 or higher, and large gasoline trucks sit near the bottom of the scale.
