Highway MPG

Fuel economy at steady higher speeds, usually the best figure for gasoline cars.

Highway MPG reflects steady cruising at higher speeds, where an engine settles into its most efficient rhythm. For conventional gasoline cars it is typically the best of the three EPA figures.

Aerodynamics matter most at highway speed, which is why sleek sedans usually beat tall SUVs here even with the same engine. If you commute long distances on the interstate, weigh this number heavily.

From the data: Of the 19,491 trims in the Trimslate dataset, 1,618 are rated at 40 highway MPG or better.
