Electric range

How many miles an EV or plug-in hybrid travels on battery power, as rated by the EPA.

Electric range is the EPA's estimate of how far a vehicle travels on battery power alone. For a battery EV it is the headline number; for a plug-in hybrid it is the gas-free portion of daily driving.

Real-world range varies with speed, temperature, and load. Cold weather and sustained highway speeds can trim 20 to 30 percent, so buyers who road-trip in winter should pad their requirement accordingly.

From the data: Of the 19,491 trims in the Trimslate dataset, 1,116 are rated for 250 miles of electric range or more.
