Naturally aspirated
An engine that breathes air at normal pressure, with no turbo or supercharger.
A naturally aspirated engine draws in air at normal atmospheric pressure, with no turbocharger or supercharger forcing in extra. Power delivery is smooth and predictable, and throttle response is immediate.
These engines tend to be simpler and historically very durable, which is why many reliability-focused buyers seek them out. The trade-off is that matching turbo power requires a physically larger engine.
From the data: Of the 19,491 trims in the Trimslate dataset, 9,570 are naturally aspirated.
